The Wallpaper History Society Celebrates 25 years of Wallpaper Design

The Imago Art Gallery, 4 Clifford Street, London W15 2LF

Award winning wallpaper designs from Norwich University College of the Arts, Leeds College of Art and ceramics from The London College of Communication, University of the Arts in response to two design competitions based on the Theme: Past, Present and Future. Featured in the Gallery were designs from guest members of the Society portraying wall coverings from the past and contemporary practice of wallpaper design. (Including: Karen Beauchamp, Rebecca Bulcraig, Matthew Meadows, Tony Roche, Hamilton Weston).

The Surgery founded Nunhead Open Art Exhibition now in its eighth year brings together successfully a diverse collection of art works from its open submission exhibition. Southwark council has kindly granted permission for the exhibition to be hosted at the empty Nunhead Green Nursery. The Nunhead Open continues to grow and in eight years has never rejected any art! Over 100 artists took part last year. 

For the second year running Artists projects, films and performance are taking place alongside The Main Nunhead Open 8 Exhibition at The Old Nursery and includes: the launch of an alternative Art Map facilitated by Charlie Fox, Nunhead illuminations by Charlotte Squire, also Projects by Peter Todd, Frog Morris, Sarah Sparkes, Miyuki Kasahara, Calum F.Kerr, Ellie Reid, Beris Blake, Daniel Lehan, Amy Poole, Ludwig Ramsey, Louise Colbourne, Jim Hobbs, Sarah Doyle, Rebecca Feiner, Jenna Collins, Matthew Meadows, Hatty Lee, Marina Rees, Peter Asagba, Rachael Haines and more. 

The Nunhead Open 8 is part of the Nunhead and Peckham Free Festival

13th European Prison Education Association Conference ('Learn to be free')

I curated an exhibition of art from the UK criminal justice system for the conference and gave a presentation about my book 'Insider Art'.

Speakers were: Joanna Banham (V&A), Christine Woods (Whitworth Art Gallery),  Mary Schoeser (Freelance archivist, curator & historian of textiles & wallpapers), Andrew Bush (National Trust), Gill Saunders (V&A), Michelle Ledward (Graham & Brown) and Paul Simmons (Timorous Beasties). Gill Saunders' international survey of artists' wallpaper featured my work.
